A cake smash session is a fun and playful photoshoot where your little one gets to explore, play with, and enjoy a cake, resulting in adorable, messy, and memorable photos.

It's best to schedule the session when your baby is around 10-11 months old. This allows time to use the photos for birthday invitations or to display at the party. However these sessions can be done ranging anywhere from 10 - 14 months old.

A basic neutral themed vanilla cake is provided as a part of your session fee. however if you choose to bring your own, a small, soft cake that is easy for your baby to smash. Avoid hard decorations, fondant or anything that could be a choking hazard. Many parents opt for simple, frosted cakes with simple neutral colours. Please voice chocolate cakes orally re food dye as they do not photograph well and can stain the skin.

If your child has any allergies or sensitivities we ask that you provide your won cake that is safe for your baby.

Dress your baby in an outfit you don’t mind getting messy. Cute, colourful outfits or nappy covers work well. Some parents also like to add accessories like hats or headbands. A cute pair of overalls/dungarees or a tutu always looks adorable.

The cake if your choose to bring your own, a change of clothes for your baby, wipes, a towel, and any special props you’d like to include. It’s also helpful to have snacks or toys to keep your baby happy.

Not all babies will dig into the cake right away. We can take it slow, and I have some tricks to help encourage them. Sometimes, even the hesitant reactions make for adorable photos.

Absolutely! We can start with some family photos before the cake smash begins, ensuring everyone looks their best before things get messy.

Cake smash sessions typically last about 1 hour. This gives us plenty of time to capture pre-cake photos, the cake smash, and any clean-up shots. Timing and inclusions also depend on your chosen package.

Yes, you can choose a colour theme for the cake smash session. Let me know your ideas, and we can incorporate decorations and props to match. The colours I currently have available are Neutrals, Pinks, Blues, Green & Purples.

You will receive your edited photos within three weeks of your session via an online gallery for easy viewing and downloading.

If your baby is unwell, it’s best to reschedule. Contact me as soon as possible to arrange a new date.

The number of photos you receive depends on the package you choose. Packages range from 15-40 high-quality edited images.

Of course! Extended family sessions are a wonderful way to capture larger family gatherings. Please let me know in advance so we can plan for the additional people. There is also an additional charge of $50 per person (Capped a $200)

Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the session will not incur any additional fees. The deposit, however, is non-refundable. Cancellations within 48 hours of the session may be subject to additional charges at the photographers discretion.

We can take breaks as needed. The comfort and happiness of your baby are important, so we’ll go at their pace.
